Murlidhar and Sangita tied the knot at ages 24 and 19 respectively. Years of waiting to conceive led them to Char Dham where they prayed for a child before finally being blessed with their son Kunal. Coming from a poor background, Murlidhar drove a truck to provide for his family. He enrolled Kunal in a school where the boy saw wealthy children and began demanding an iPhone 15 Pro. Murlidhar purchased the device on EMI but eventually could not keep up with the payments while he was away from home for three months due to driving duties. He had planned to buy his own vehicle to rent out for better support. The tragedy unfolded when Kunal went near a cliff and pressured his father regarding the unpaid EMI. His parents pleaded with him not to go there. Kunal fell off the edge. Murlidhar tried to save him, grabbed his hand, and also fell. Sangita watched her family fall and jumped over the cliff.
