Gov. Ron DeSantis is moving to ban EBT and TANF taxpayer funds from paying for Alcohol, Adult entertainment, Fortune telling, and Theme park tickets in Florida. The restriction also blocks tobacco, vaping, drugs, intoxicants, adult material, video games, entertainment tickets, theme park subscriptions, tattoos, tanning beds, and fortune telling services. DeSantis claims such purchases represent fraud where people are milking the system and are not actually needy. He stated: "If somebody really is needy, we just want to make sure that that money is going to the things that are going to HELP that individual." This move characterizes Florida as the land of common sense while questioning why such uses were ever allowed.
