Amy Pascal already said she wanted him to return, so this feels like it's actually coming together. Brand New Day handed the Tom Holland era a whole different energy, and what Cretton proved is that he understands the quieter, more grounded side of Peter Parker instead of just the spectacle. Character-first is the way to go here.
