Rick Sanchez on Putin, Trump and Ukraine

@jolyonWhat's actually keeping a journalist up at night after sitting down with Putin in Moscow? Not Iran. Not Ukraine. It's the thought of Trump losing the midterms and what comes after. Rick Sanchez, who spent years as a CNN anchor, laid out his read on the whole picture. Ukraine's air defenses are running thin, and as far as negotiations go, that window has closed. He put the warehouse numbers side by side: Russia took out 57% of Ukraine's consumer warehouses, while Ukraine managed 3% on the Russian side. His warning was simple. Watch what you do, because it can circle back. Moscow's take on Trump comes down to disappointment. They figured he got where they were coming from. What they got instead was all bluster, no go. Sanchez's real fear is Trump being humiliated before November and whatever follows that. He brought up his own time covering Clinton, back when NATO began bombing Belgrade, and wondered out loud whether Trump might go down a similar road. Scary, he said.

The man on the right is wearing a suit jacket and dress shirt, with his hand to his chin, appearing thoughtful. The overall mood is professional and interview-like.
