An extraordinary atmospheric event displays an iridescent cloud right next to a storm tower. Sunlight, fine droplets in the clouds, and the boundary of a dark storm combine to form these luminous rainbow shades. Experts refer to this occurrence as cloud iridescence. It results from the bending of sunlight by very small water droplets or ice crystals present in the air.
