A new ranking from World Population Review lists the 20 oldest countries in the world based on their earliest recorded founding dates. Iran tops the list at 3200 BC, followed by Egypt (3100 BC), Vietnam (2879 BC), and Armenia (2492 BC). North Korea, China, India, Georgia, Israel, and Sudan round out the top ten. The full list includes Ethiopia, Japan, Mexico, San Marino, Greece, Lebanon, France, Portugal, Denmark, and Norway, with the latter at 872 AD. The data was shared by DataOfStats.
