Laurent Blanc had a pre-match ritual of kissing goalkeeper Fabien Barthez on the head before every game in the 1998 World Cup. France conceded just 2 goals all tournament and beat Brazil 3-0 in the final to lift their first World Cup. That gesture became one of the most iconic images of the championship.
