Nazi MG-34 found in Hezbollah bunker

Fox News Digital gained rare access to the Tzrifin base in central Israel where captured weapons from Hezbollah and Hamas are stored. Among the seized items is a German MG-34 machine gun from World War II stamped with an eagle carrying a swastika, alongside a second Nazi-era weapon, the MP 44. Lieutenant Colonel Idan Sharon-Kettler, who commands the Captured Equipment Evacuation Unit, stated the Nazi gun served as propaganda or morale for the fighters. The collection includes weapons and materials spanning Iran, Russia, China, Austria, Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, and Gaza. Israeli troops found hundreds of Iranian mortars and dozens of Iranian-made cannons in southern Lebanon villages. Seized equipment included Russian AK-103 and AK-104 rifles, Austrian Steyr HS.50 caliber sniper rifles, and an Iranian-built copy of the Steyr. Egyptian-made Halawa motorcycles captured in Israel were used to take hostages on October 7. Uniforms manufactured in Syria, China, and Lebanon were recovered alongside helmets, anti-shrapnel vests, and medical kits. Talks on disarming Hezbollah are set for early September in Rome. East Germany sold Syria about 4,500 StG 44s in 1964, Czechoslovakia unloaded thousands more Nazi surplus rifles, and roughly 5,000 of these spilled into the region's arms market during Syria's civil war. So whose morale was the gun really supposed to lift? Everything we know about where it turned up comes from the IDF, the propaganda explanation came from an officer on a guided press tour, for goodness sakes. A swastika in a Hezbollah bunker lands a little too on the nose for the story being told around it. Just saying... #FoxNews #Germany
