Ugandan Mayor Mamdani 9/11 pen backlash
A 9/11 memorial ceremony has turned into a scandal after Ugandan Mayor Mamdani signed an executive order and then presented the ceremonial pen to Ramzi Kassem, his own chief counsel. Kassem is the lawyer who defended Ahmed al-Darbi, an Al-Qaeda operative tied to the Pentagon attack. Victims' families are furious. One man, whose brother died in the North Tower, didn't hold back: "It's BULLSH*T. How can you defend a guy like that who wants to do Americans or any innocent person harm?" Another critic said, "This Islamist is spitting on America in our faces!" The whole thing feels like proof that New York has forgotten what happened that day. The enemy isn't outside the walls anymore, it's already inside.
