Saxony-Anhalt 2026 mail-in voting projection

some parties are projecting way more mail-in ballots for Saxony-Anhalt in 2026 than they actually collected during the height of COVID hysteria and lockdowns. that situation makes no sense to me. i keep wondering why anyone would think voters would use mail-in voting at the same rate or even higher once those emergency restrictions were gone. it is only logical that fewer people would choose this method compared to the frantic months when everything was shut down.
