Shota Umino NJPW interview

Callum Newman just took the New Japan Cup and grabbed the IWGP title this year, while Ryohei Oiwa is pulling off rapid success after returning from excursion. Shota Umino says he finds those achievements impressive but they don't rattle him in any way. He's not trying to be the rabbit or the tortoise in some simple race; he prefers a step-by-step approach where he takes one step as it comes instead of rushing. When people come back from excursion you have some like Oiwa becoming very successful very quickly and then you have people like me who are taking one step as it comes. The strategy here is about making sure every single step is taken properly so that when he reaches the top he'll have every tool needed to stay there.
