The US government's stake in Intel has surged by $44 billion since the deal on August 22, 2025. Back then, they committed to buying 433.3 million shares at $20.47 each, putting $8.9 billion down for a 9.9% slice of the company. With $INTC trading at $121.78, that original position is valued at roughly $52.9 billion. The math checks out to an unrealized profit of $44 billion, which is nearly a 495% return over just 13 months
