Ron Perlman lost his composure during the filming of Alien: Resurrection because he was genuinely surprised. Sigourney Weaver had performed a difficult basketball shot that was considered impossible, and she practiced for several weeks before succeeding. The editors eventually removed footage of Perlman's reaction from the final cut.
