South Florida gas station shooting
A white man in South Florida shot a Black man at a gas station, and investigators are still piecing together the sequence. What the video lays out first is an attack on a woman: a man walks up to a white Toyota SUV, tries the door handles, raps on the glass, then hauls her out of the car, shoves her, beats her, and at one point has his hands around her neck. She gets back in and locks the doors. He goes into the store. When he comes back out and passes the SUV, the driver fires on him. NBC reports the driver stayed at the scene, and the man who was shot is in critical condition. Whether self-defense will be claimed is still unclear. Hundreds of Black Facebook users want the driver imprisoned for life, accusing him of a racist crime and of shooting a Black man while he was fleeing. That's the part of this I can't square.
