If the argument is that consuming drugs or alcohol removes all responsibility for consent, then where does that logic end? The same people pushing that stance would likely claim a driver has no accountability for a fatal crash if they were under the influence. This line of questioning emerged after a gathering at Cornell University where protesters chanted 'No justice, no peace!' following reports that a woman allegedly altered her testimony five times concerning a rape accusation. Signs in the crowd read 'CU NOT STAY RAPISTS' and 'THIS IS FEMININE RAGE DO YOU HEAR US YET'. No justice! No peace! No justice! No peace! No justice! Cornell must do better by the people who make this university right. The culture of rape that Cornell perpetuates and profits from must end. We, CGS UUE, alongside Students Not Bombs, demand immediate resignation or termination of Cornell administrators Michael Kotlikoff, Ryan Lombardi, Ryan White, Robert Harrington, Fabian Paula, and Christina Oleg. ...those who are most vulnerable in the wake of the repeated attacks on so many of us on the federal level. And that includes ensuring justice for survivors of sexual assault and actually working to prevent sexual violence on this campus. I would say it's time for Cornell to pick a side, but I'm afraid that they already have, and it's worth the right way. Shame! Shame! There is one uniting factor running through all of these events, and all of the many... If something ever happens to me again, and it happens on this campus, that they will not help me. They will not help me because Cordell is more concerned with following unjust laws, protecting their own legal liability, and ensuring alignment with the Trump administration.
