Alyssa Thomas has cultivated a fanbase defined not by a single monolithic name, but by a deep, enduring connection centered on her jersey number 25 and the phrase "Thomas Type of Love." This branding, explicitly embraced by Thomas herself, captures the selfless intensity and community spirit that fans have cherished throughout her eleven-year tenure with the Connecticut Sun. The devotion is most visible in the emotional atmosphere surrounding her jersey retirement ceremony in August 2026, where supporters turned a franchise farewell into a celebration of legacy before she moved to the Phoenix Mercury. Beyond statistics, the fandom acts as a protective shield; following the online harassment she faced in June 2026, the community mobilized to defend her against toxicity, reinforcing their role as active guardians of her well-being rather than passive observers. Her authenticity as a Maryland alum and global competitor resonates deeply, creating a loyal following that values grit over glamour. Despite this intense local and national resonance within the WNBA ecosystem, Alyssa Thomas does not currently hold a placement in the published iFANN Global Top 1,000 rankings or any Top-100 scope list. The iFANN Global Fame Engine has evaluated her status, confirming that while her influence is profound within basketball circles, she remains unranked in the current global fame metrics.[編集]

Thomas majored in communications at Maryland and has expressed interest in broadcasting or coaching after retirement. She has played overseas in Turkey and Russia during WNBA offseasons and was briefly suspended in 2025 for making contact with a referee during a game. One of only a few players to record a triple-double in a WNBA playoff game, she also holds the distinction of being the sole player in league history to achieve a 15-point, 15-rebound, 10-assist game with no turnovers. A defining legend of her career occurred in August 2026 when the Connecticut Sun officially retired her jersey number #25 just prior to a game against her new team, the Phoenix Mercury. Another pivotal chapter in her story unfolded in June 2026, when she revealed receiving death threats and racial slurs following an on-court altercation involving Caitlin Clark. She used this platform to publicly criticize WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert for inadequate security, becoming a vocal advocate for player safety. These events have woven a modern mythology around her, blending her decade-long reign of statistical dominance with recent battles against toxicity in the sport.[編集]
