Daniel Cormier's supporters do not rally under a single, formalized banner like "Cormier Nation." Instead, his audience is a broad coalition of MMA enthusiasts and UFC fans who identify with the moniker "DC," celebrating his journey from an undersized Olympic wrestler to a two-division champion. His fanbase interaction mirrors the wider combat sports community: highly engaged during fight nights, active in reaction videos, and deeply invested in his commentary work. While he maintains a massive digital presence with over 1.3 million Facebook likes and a dedicated podcast following, there are no organized fan campaigns, charity drives bearing his specific name, or ritualistic behaviors unique to his supporters that distinguish them from general combat sports fans. The mythology surrounding him is defined by his unprecedented status as a simultaneous two-division champion and the complex narrative of his rivalry with Jon Jones. Fans frequently retell the story of their trilogy, particularly the moment at UFC 230 where Cormier realized the limits of preparation against innate talent. This tale has evolved into central folklore regarding the "underdog vs. genius" dynamic in the sport. Another defining legend involves his dominance over larger opponents despite being undersized, a theme highlighted in viral compilations of his heavyweight performances. Recent discussions also touch on controversial lore, such as his recounting of a fight he believed was fixed, adding layers of debate to his legacy. His cultural impact extends to internet meme culture, illustrated by friendly banter with Islam Makhachev regarding promises for his son. Ultimately, his legendary status derives almost entirely from athletic achievements and his role as a respected voice in broadcasting. Daniel Cormier is currently the 44th most famous person in MMA & Boxing, according to the iFANN Global Fame Rankings.[編集]

Before his full-time fighting career, Cormier worked as a substitute teacher and earned a sociology degree from Oklahoma State University. He was a training partner and close friend of Cain Velasquez at American Kickboxing Academy. Despite being naturally shorter than most heavyweights, he wrestled for the U.S. Olympic team at 96 kg. Throughout his career, he never suffered a knockout loss; his defeats came via TKO, submission, or decision. His nickname "DC" is simply derived from his initials. Beyond the ring, Cormier is a central figure in modern MMA folklore. The widely retold story of his trilogy with Jon Jones culminated at UFC 230, often cited as the moment Cormier accepted the limits of hard work against natural talent. Fans also cherish legends of his heavyweight dominance, where he became one of the few fighters to hold belts in both divisions simultaneously within the Octagon. A more recent addition to this lore involves Cormier recounting an incident where he called a fight he believed was fixed, expressing disbelief at a fighter's poor performance. These stories, alongside his transition from a feared competitor to a respected elder statesman, define his enduring legacy in the sport.[編集]

His career fighting earnings total approximately $3–4 million in disclosed payouts, with his largest purses coming from pay-per-view headliners like UFC 226 (vs. Miocic) and UFC 230 (vs. Lewis), each netting over $1 million including PPV points. Since transitioning to broadcasting in 2021, Cormier earns an estimated $500,000 to $1 million annually as a UFC color commentator and ESPN analyst.
