Fiona Wade

2015年、『Emmerdale』はBritish Soap AwardsでWho Killed Val?

Fiona Wade's fanbase is a loyal but quiet presence, clustered around her official social media and the broader Emmerdale community. There is no formal fandom name, she is simply known as 'Priya' to many, a nod to the character she played for 12 years. Her supporters are reactive rather than organized; they rallied when she announced her departure from the soap in 2022, generating enough buzz to fuel national headlines. They celebrated her casting in a US sitcom in 2025 and turned out for the Emmerdale 50th-anniversary tour, where she plays Jenny. But there are no coordinated campaigns, no fan-run sites, no inside jokes that transcend the show itself.

In the grand scheme of global fame, Wade's profile is modest. As of August 2026, iFANN's Global Fame Engine has evaluated her but she does not currently hold a placement in the published rankings, neither the Global Top 1,000 nor any Top-100 scope list. That means her fame, while substantial within UK soap circles, does not register on the same scale as international stars. Her recognition is built on years of consistent work, a dozen years on a national institution, a West End run, a UK tour, rather than viral moments or worldwide headlines. For her fans, that consistency is precisely the appeal.[編集]

Wade attended the same part-time theatre school as Amy Winehouse, Dua Lipa, and Rita Ora, though at different times. For her bulimia storyline on Emmerdale, she spoke with women who had suffered from the condition to ensure an authentic portrayal. She performed as a session singer and released music under her own name before and during her time on the soap, though she never charted. Her first major stage role after leaving Emmerdale was in The Bodyguard, a role that required live singing, showcasing her dual talents. She has a dedicated but modest fanbase, primarily in the UK, and no official fandom name.

One story fans still retell: when Wade's fiancé proposed in 2019, he first visited her father's grave, a gesture so personal that Wade shared it in interviews, cementing her reputation for openness. Another highlight: her 12-year run as Priya Sharma made her a fixture in British living rooms, and her exit storyline in January 2023 was treated as a major event in the soap press. More recently, she landed a US sitcom role in 2025, a career pivot that surprised and delighted followers.[編集]

iFANN currently estimates Fiona Wade's net worth at $1.8 million. Her primary source of income was her salary from Emmerdale, where she was a regular cast member for 12 years; long-running UK soap actors typically earn between £100,000 and £200,000 per year. Additional income came from guest roles on series like The Bill, Holby City, Doctors, and Casualty, as well as stage productions including The Bodyguard and 2:22 A Ghost Story. She also earned from her singing career, performing as a session singer and releasing music under her own name, though this contributed modestly.[編集]
