The numbers side comes from the National Institute for Public Health (INSP), which finalized its situation report on September 29, 2026, and published it a day later. Across seven provinces, lab-confirmed Ebola virus disease cases total 8,224. Deaths among those confirmed cases sit at 3,982, a case fatality rate of 48.4%. Recoveries recorded: 2,121.
